Inspired British Manufacturing

It never ceases to astonish us, but many people are still taken by surprise by the fact that we really do manufacture. It is true that British manufacturing generally has declined massively over recent decades and the furniture industry has seen more than its fair share of closures. High Wycombe is just down the road from our factory and used to be a centre for furniture manufacture, but almost all have now gone.

So, in some ways, perhaps it is not so surprising that people don’t believe it until they actually see it, but we genuinely do MAKE everything we sell – nothing comes in and goes out in a box. All our soft seating and upholstery is designed and created from the base materials – the foam, the timber, the fabric all arrive at the factory in their raw state to be cut, assembled, glued, sewn and then skilfully fashioned into the final product.

At the very least, we assemble from the base up all the beam, multi-purpose, technical and task chairs we sell.

And actually, it is inspiring. We all take enormous pride in what we make and it gives everyone a huge buzz when we see finished product leaving the factory looking absolutely fabulous, whether that is something we have created.

Or something we have made as good, if not better than, new.
