Design, Wellbeing, Environmental Responsibility – Always.
Big words – what do they mean for us.
Over the past couple of weeks, we have talked about Design and Wellbeing. This week, it’s all about Environmental Responsibility, a subject which we are proud to say is at the heart of everything we do at rhbr.
It’s a huge and growing subject about which we could write volumes. We are continually exploring new and innovative ways to make our own products more sustainable and we are working all the time with our trusted supply chain to stay ahead of the curve when recycled and low environmental impact materials and fabrics come to market. For us, this is a way of life – we said ages ago that we design for green…

…not for the bin and that means not only using the most sustainable materials we can but also designing our furniture in such a way that it can be refurbished for re-use rather than scrapped just because fabrics or foams are worn out.
Environmental responsibility has very rapidly become a mainstream consideration for everyone. The past couple of years has seen a huge increase in the demand for re-upholstery and refurbishment of seating, from all sectors, to the point where it is now a significant and growing proportion of our activities. We have worked on everything from auditoriums to waiting rooms, commercial spaces to student accommodation, task chairs to sofas.

And we love sending them all back looking as good as new…better in some instances!
We are constantly advising on sustainable fabrics, too, as this becomes a priority – our fabric information sheet provides full details on fabric composition and sustainability credentials.
Let us work with you – sustainability and respect for the environment are responsibilities we take seriously and we are constantly learning and working to improve our practices.
Design, Wellbeing Environmental Responsibility – Always.
