What do I want to be when I grow up?

Furniture manufacturing was a traditional industry in the UK for many a long year in which people served long apprenticeships learning and honing their craft.
Sadly, with the demise of so many furniture businesses, those skills have become an increasing rarity. Here at rhbr we have been fortunate in having a pool of really skilled and experienced people who have been able to train and mentor new arrivals, many of whom had absolutely no previous knowledge of seating manufacture.

We thought it would be quite fun to give you a quick introduction to a few people here who fit that profile so we asked everyone two questions:

What they ended up doing was quite different, in every case, but we benefit now from the backgrounds and experiences they have gained across a huge variety of sectors:
Mining, Printing, Catering, Motor Mechanic, Packaging, Case Goods, Agriculture, Long Distance HGV driving, Chartered Accountancy, Clothing, Payroll Management, Field Sales, IT, Nursery Work, Event Management, just to name a few.

And it’s all that variety in the mix that makes us the strong team we are.
